 DESCRIPTIVE TEXT - HISTORICAL BUILDING   

To describe in general about a famous historical buildings.

Generic Structure of Descriptive Text

When writing descriptive text, there are some generic structures (actually not mandatory) for our writing to be true. The arrangement is:

1. Identification: (contains about the introduction of a person, place, animal or object will be described.)

2.  Description: contains a description of something such as animal, things, place or person by describing its features, forms, colors, or anything related to what the writer describe.

Purpose of Descriptive text

1. To describe person, thing or place in specific
2. To describe a particular person, thing or place.

Language Feature of Descriptive Text

– Specific participant : has a certain object, is not common and unique (only one). for example: Bandengan beach, my house, Borobudur temple, uncle Jim
– The use of the adjective (an adjective) to clarify the noun, for example: a beautiful beach, a handsome man, the famous place in jepara, etc.
– The use of simple present tense: The sentence pattern used is simple present because it tells the fact of the object described.
– Action verb: verbs that show an activity (for example, run, sleep, walk, cut etc….

Berlin Wall

The Berlin Wall (German: Berliner Mauer) is a concrete parapet built by the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) that was installed in West Berlin and East Berlin as well as other East German areas to make West Berlin an enclave [1]. This wall was built on August 13, 1961. This barrier wall was also accompanied by the construction of a guard tower that was built along this wall, [2] as well as the construction of a restricted area, which was filled with anti-vehicle mines. The Eastern Bloc claimed that this wall was built to protect its citizens from fascist elements who could carry out major movements, so that they could form a communist government in East Germany. Even so, in practice, it has been used to prevent the greater flight of East Berliners to West Berlin, which is within West Germany.
